Wiping the Hard Drive

The other day I overheard two undergrads talking in the locker room:

Guy 1: "Yeah, so I broke up with Heather."

Guy 2: [unintelligible comment]

Guy 1: "Whadjoo say?"

Guy 2: "Dude -- it's time for you to wipe your hard drive and move on."

Good advice. Bad metaphor.
